In 2010 the U.S. Treasury changed its way of doing savings bonds from paper to all electronic. So savings bonds can no longer can be purchased at the bank. To learn all about this change please visit https://www.treasurydirect.gov/ which lets you buy and redeem securities directly from the U.S. Department of the Treasury in paperless electronic form.
You can still redeem paper savings bonds at our Herrin, Carterville, or Marion locations. Make sure to bring with the paper bond a valid ID with the correct address.
